Write for us
We welcome pitches that make a question clearer, uncover an assumption or help readers follow the reasoning behind a lively idea. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without an agreed pitch.
What we are looking for
Strong proposals focus on one specific question and explain why a curious general reader might care. They offer a clear line of thought, define any specialist terms and leave room for complication where the subject calls for it. We are interested in concise explainers, careful comparisons, thought experiments and accessible accounts of how an idea developed.
What to include
Tell us the working title, the central question, your proposed approach and the main points you would help readers understand. Note any sources or examples you expect to use and flag possible conflicts of interest. We do not need a polished draft at the pitch stage.
Our approach to submissions
We value clear reasoning, fair representation and a voice that invites readers into the subject. We may suggest a tighter focus or ask for clarification. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a response before preparing a full piece.
Curiosity is a way of paying attention
We believe ideas become more useful when we examine them patiently, make room for uncertainty and ask what might be missing.
